We make all of the food fresh here in our kitchen with as few “convenience” ingredients as possible. That means our Lasagna sauce is made from scratch and low simmered on our stoves just like Grandma used to. There can be some recipes with convenience foods such as Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, Potato or Tortilla chips, or Campbells Cream of Chicken Soup in some recipes. If they are, then it is because that is one of our most popular recipes and it’s on the menu because of popular demand. The Paleolithic Diet is an eating plan based on a “hunter gatherer” diet. Essentially what man was eating before agriculture evolved 10,000 years ago when we started eating a grain based diet. It includes meats, fish, vegetables, healthy oils, some nuts and fruits. Basically you eat whole, unprocessed, nutrient-dense, nourishing foods. What you don’t eat are foods that will harm you by causing systemic inflammation, wrecking your gut, or derailing your natural metabolic processes. This includes grains, dairy, legumes, artificial ingredients, highly processed foods like high fructose corn syrup, sugar and alcohol. There are plenty of good websites that explain this philosophy in detail. You might be thinking, “No cheese?! What can I eat then?” Well there is plenty! The hard part is the time involved in shopping, preparing and finding good recipes. That’s where we come in. We do it all for you. We provide the convenience just like fast food or supermarket frozen dinners, but the difference is that our food is good for your body and provides you and your family the proper nutrients to sustain yourselves through this mind field we call life.
